The Giant rookie outfielder went 2 for 3 with 4 RBI's including
a two-run-shot, his second homer in two starts. The injury
to Dave Roberts has opened the door and Bowker is taking
advantage. In 2007 for AA Connecticut he batted .307 with
22 home runs. It is very early, but if you have someone
to cut you may want to roll the dice on this guy. He is
now being worked at 1B.
Fred Lewis
- Giants
the 27-year-old Lewis is starting to put together some
nice fantasy numbers. He is batting .329 with 8 doubles,
2 triples, 2 home runs and 2 stolen bases. s.
Cameron Maybin
- Marlins - Minors
He is the big prospect acquired in the Miguel Cabrera trade.
At 21 he is probably a year away from (or maybe two) being
a star, but he will have a shot to start in centerfield
for the Marlins. The Marlins have a young, but very average
offense, so Maybin is a risk unless your in a keeper league.
Jay Bruce
- Cincinnati - Minors
The 2007 Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year
has batted .299, hit 51 home runs and stole 33 bases in
two years in the minors. He will likely start the season
as a back up, though with Josh Hamilton now a Ranger he
may start.
